The Whirlwind THS 4 Talkback Headphone Box is a remarkable audio device. It features both main and talkback microphone outputs. The latching Mic On/Off switch links the signal to the main mic output, and it glows red when the mic output is active. There are two types of onboard condenser microphone power, allowing for smooth switching when talkback is turned on. A recessed three - way switch lets you choose between phantom or 'T' power, preventing accidental shut - off. The momentary Cough switch mutes both the mic and talkback outputs when pressed, while the momentary Talkback switch sends audio to the talkback output and mutes the mic out. The announcer's microphone goes through a preamp and line driver to deliver line - level signal to the talkback output, with a level control for precise audio adjustment. The Talkback switch lights up green when pressed. The headphone section has two inputs, each with a volume control and dip switches to direct the signal to the left, right, or both earpieces. Input signals can be balanced mono or unbalanced stereo, and a rear - panel switch selects the right mode. It offers both 3 - pin XLR and TRS input jacks for flexible connections and can drive headphones with impedances from 30 to 600 Ohms to full volume. It comes with a 12 VAC power adapter, model # PS12AC1A. Key features include two line - level inputs with individual volume controls, input assign switches, balanced or unbalanced inputs, a passive Mic Out for reliable on - air use, silent mic output switching, an active line - level Talkback Out with level adjustment, control switches, and 1/4” TRS or 3.5mm headphone jacks.

Using the Whirlwind THS 4 Talkback Headphone Box is easy. First, connect the power adapter (model # PS12AC1A) to power up the unit.
