Product Description

The Lowell LT2 - 830 - T870 - Vb is a top - notch quick - install professional speaker designed specifically for suspended tile ceilings. It comes with a premium 8 - inch coaxial driver, a 70V transformer, a fine - perforation grille, and an 0.8 cubic - foot volume backbox in a 2x2 assembly. This allows it to quickly replace a non - tegular (2x2) ceiling tile. The assembly includes an 8 - inch 20W coaxial driver with a 12 - ounce magnet, offering a frequency response of 57Hz - 14kHz (±6dB) and 44Hz - 20kHz (±7.6dB), and an average sensitivity of 97.0dB measured at 1W/1M. The 70V transformer has primary taps at 1, 2, 4, and 8W. The 0.8 - cubic - foot steel backbox has a 1.5 - inch thick acoustic lining, and the driver leads exit through a metal clamp. The backbox is offset to avoid plenum obstructions. The 2x2 fine - perforation grille provides maximum free - air space for great sound transmission and has an unobtrusive white appearance, suitable for new or existing tile ceilings. Mounting aids include restraint tabs. This 2'x2' speaker system directly replaces a 2'x2' ceiling tile, featuring a factory - mounted 8 - inch coaxial driver with a white powder - epoxy finished fine - perforation steel grille.

Using this Lowell speaker is easy. First, remove the non - tegular 2x2 ceiling tile where you want to install the speaker. Then, place the speaker assembly in the tile opening. Make sure the restraint tabs are properly in place to secure it. Connect the speaker to the appropriate power source according to the 70V transformer's primary taps (1, 2, 4, or 8W). When it comes to maintenance, keep the grille clean. You can use a soft, dry cloth to gently wipe away dust. Avoid using harsh chemicals or abrasive materials as they may damage the grille or the speaker. Also, check the metal clamp where the driver leads exit regularly to ensure it's in good condition. If you notice any issues with the sound quality or the speaker doesn't seem to be working properly, check the power connection and the transformer settings. And remember, the backbox is offset to fit around plenum obstructions, so be careful not to force it into a tight space during installation.
