Product Description

The Lowell LT2-8A-T870-Vb is a quick-install professional speaker designed for suspended tile ceilings. It features a premium 8-inch 50W coaxial driver with 20 oz. LF and 2 oz. HF ceramic magnets, offering a frequency response of 40Hz - 19.4kHz (±6dB) and 40Hz - 20kHz (±7.3dB), and an average sensitivity of 90.6dB (1W/1M). This ensures excellent power handling and smooth sound reproduction. The 70V transformer has primary taps at 1.1, 2, 4, and 8W. The fine-perforation grille in white provides maximum free-air space for great sound transmission and an unobtrusive look. The 0.8 cu.ft. steel backbox has a 1.5-inch thick acoustic lining, a removable dual knockout wiring compartment cover plate, and driver leads exiting through a metal clamp. It can directly replace a non-tegular (2x2) ceiling tile.

Using the Lowell LT2-8A-T870-Vb speaker is easy. First, remove the 2x2 ceiling tile and place the speaker in its position. Connect the wiring according to the transformer taps that suit your power needs. You can choose from 1.1, 2, 4, or 8W taps. When it comes to maintenance, keep the grille clean to ensure good sound transmission. You can use a soft, dry cloth to wipe it. Avoid using abrasive materials that could damage the grille. Also, check the wiring connections periodically to make sure they are secure. If you notice any issues with the sound quality or if the speaker doesn't seem to be working properly, check the power supply and the transformer taps. Always follow the electrical safety guidelines when handling the speaker. And remember, the backbox is offset to fit around plenum obstructions, so make sure to install it in a way that takes this into account.
