Product Description

The Whirlwind Micmute PPD is a great passive switcher for your desktop. It's a simple and effective way to control the on and off of a microphone or balanced line signal. You can operate it via a finger switch. There are three styles of Micmute that cover all essential mic control functions. Each style comes in two types of actuators: a heavy - duty footswitch and a finger - operated version for desktop use like the PPD. This box has a female XLR input and a male XLR output. When no signal passes through, it mutes the connected audio device's input. All Micmute styles can pass phantom power for condenser microphones. The Micmute PPD is a latching Push On; Push Off switch. Press and release or toggle it to change the signal state. It has an indicator LED (works with phantom power), and its indicating rocker switch shows a red bar when the signal is on.

Using the Whirlwind Micmute PPD is easy. First, connect your microphone to the female XLR input and the male XLR output to your audio device. To turn the signal on or off, just press and release or toggle the switch. If you're using a condenser microphone, the box can pass phantom power. When the connected microphone preamp input provides phantom power, the blue LED will light up to show the mic is live. And if the signal is on, the rocker switch will display a red bar. Remember, the LED won't work without phantom power. For maintenance, keep it clean and dry. Avoid exposing it to extreme temperatures or humidity. If there are any issues, check the connections first. If the problem persists, you may need to consult a professional.
